Club 1907. Etc., etc.
The Club 1907 is continues to be in hybernation, until the atmosphere is ripe for it! By the way, thanks to Dr. Paul Francia for making us a part of the Society of 1907 Clubs, a golfing association based in the U.K., which groups all golf clubs established in 1907. There are close to 30 or 40 (?) golf clubs in this Society, all registered in the Internet, by Mr. John Goodier of the Lymm Golf Club near London! We are in! You don’t know this, but …we will have reciprocity rights with any of them come 2007! Next time you are in the UK, just present your IGCCI ID (a new one by then) and you may play in any of these courses in the Society of 1907 Clubs … WITHOUT PAYING THE GREEN FEES! Hah! Only for IGCCI members! It pays to be old sometimes!
The Lymm Golf Club (in Cheshire, 200 miles from London) will be celebrating their own Centenary with a Ball to open a New Clubhouse scheduled in June 26, 2007. As we have invited the British Ambassador to the Philippines to be one of our Honored Guests (the others who have accepted are Ming and FVR) in our Centenary Opening in January, 2007, they will reciprocate by inviting the Philippine Ambassador to their Centenary Ball!! Nice ha! Be there!... (the chair was invited), all expenses paid, with side trips to the Mediterranean Island of Cyprus, 3days- 2 nites, and the French Riviera for a week! A lady chaperon will be handpicked by you… again all expenses paid also… by yourself! Any takers? They think we play and know this game as well as they do!
Well then, Club 1907 could be a last recourse! (Last, hah?! You ARE desperate!) Hmmm…What’s that?! It’s a solution …. a system, a mechanism, that institutes continuing golf instruction to members, especially the new ones… the young-at-golf! That’s the original idea of Clubs anyway… honing your skills… together! Tribal hah? Cultist maybe! Don’t call it ‘elitist’ if you’re no good at it! You don’t deserve it! So what has changed?
It’s nice to belong to a system that constantly strives to hue to what is true and correct about golf! Basta Golf lang! That’s mainly the reason why we are here anyway! It is expensive enough not to play it in a real golf course! But once clubs are wielded ON a GOLF COURSE, centuries-old rules are followed. Those rules were not born with any of us! That’s why TRADITION is sacred in Golf! So, let’s just bring them on! Then, and only then, can we be really proud members of the UK-based "Society of 1907 Clubs"! Like, it was said, we were once affiliated with the R&A! The R & A The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrew!! OH. YEAH, BIG DEAL???! Reeeeeeeally? … so, show me! Aber.. aberrr..! Yes, kuya Henry? Kuya Ron? … Sapak timo karan!? Bah, no tradition? Hello, Loser!
